One of the benefits of getting older is that you're forced out of sheer necessity to take people as they are. Gone are the days that you projected onto them, and saw what you wanted to see. People start appearing as their stark-naked selves, and whether you like it or not, you cannot entertain illusions. I think this is a good thing, but being a dreamer, I kinda miss it.
