I hate waking up for Church on Sundays.
I need spiritual nourishment just as surely as my body needs physical food. I'm not even a religious person, and the term "hopeful agnostic" would probably apply to me. Experiencing the religious devotions inherent in church services really, really helps me. I love the ringing bells, the wafting smells (my church uses incense at every service) and the form of worship in the Book of Common Prayer (I'm High Church Anglican). These things help me have a direct experience of God.
Church is important for anyone struggling with something. For me, it's my health and my outlook about life, but anyone who wrestles with questions of faith needs the comfort of their ancestral spiritual traditions. I sincerely hope you find comfort in yours.
All Good Things!
